Radical Redemption

Case

World’s first high end VR, local livestream

Always looking how to improve the fan-experience, Hardstyle DJ Radical Redemption and Concept Bureau de Leeuw joined forces and did something that has never been done before. What if we could make fans experience the thrill of standing live, on-stage in front of thousands of people?

In order to realize this we went ahead and worked together with some of the brightest minds in silicon valley to design the world’s first high-end local VR livestream. This was made possible by combining over 300 meters of fiberoptics, two 8K 180° camera’s, a custom “live stitching computer”,2 fiberoptic swhiches and 8 high-end laptops with a custom made booth. The stitching computer took the input from the camera’s and stitched them in real time, previously unheard of in these resolutions.

Guests would pay for a ticket to go “on-stage” once they step into the booth – complete with high end sound system and smoke – and put on their VR goggles they find themselves on-stage next to their hero. Participants received the video of what they saw during their experience via email.

That night we had over 600 customers experiencing what it’s like to be on-stage for the first time.
