Flamingo Beer

Concept Bureau de Leeuw were asked to help De Statiegeld B.V. with the development of new a beer brand that would resonate with the Caribbean locals. Following our extensive research of the brands environment, we definded the Caribbean beer market as “all alike” – blue seas, yellow suns and indistinguishable slogans.

In designing this brand we looked at Bonaire and it’s culture. We wanted to stand out from the crowd and therefore adopted the Caribbean Flamingo – the national symbol – as our primary logotype and brand name. Bonaire is also often reffered to as “the Caribbean of the 80’s”, we took this as inspiration and interpeted the Flamingo in an 80’s way whilst highlighting the handcrafted appeal of the brand by painting the Flamingo by hand.

Flamingo Beer’s customers will get the best beer which pays homage to the island for a very good price. For the people of the islands, by the people of the islands.

We’ve launched Flamingo Beer with the “Stand Out!” campaign, bringing life to the young and energetic audience and shining the spotlight on those who stand out.

We then documented the entire brand in beautiful, hard-cover brand books.
